Hello everyone! and welcome to Japanese at work.
Today, I would like to introduce Characteristics of Japanese corporate culture.
Let's start!

Japan places great importance on 'Organisation' and has a culture of sharing. Even minor matters are reported to superiors before a decision is made, so everything is decided by the organisation as a whole. Therefore, there is a lot of review and coordination, and the larger the organisation, the slower the speed of decision-making tends to be.
They are also strictly disciplined and punctual, so while they are serious and precise, they can also be rule-bound and unproductive.
Speed of decision-making
Generally, decisions are made after the views of everyone involved in the project have been heard. As everyone is aware of what is happening, there are fewer mistakes and the products and services are of higher quality and reliability. However, decisions tend to be made more slowly than in foreign companies because of the many meetings and documents that need to be prepared.
Individual and organisational relationships
The contribution of the company is assessed at the organisational level. Results are also often assessed at the organisational level, and there is a tendency for less assessment of the contribution of individuals.
Evaluation criteria.
Process as well as results are considered important. The evaluation tends to take into account the effort and time spent on the results and emphasises human qualities.
How they work.
We tend to be cautious about risks. We don't say 'can' unless there is almost a 100% chance that we can do it.
That wraps up our guide for today.
